Howard Maibach
Howard Maibach is an American dermatologist, researcher, published author and a professor from the University of California, San Francisco. In 2013, he was awarded the "Master Dermatologist Award" by the American Academy of Dermatology recognizing his contributions in the field of dermatology. Currently, he is a professor of Dermatology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He is also the editorial board member of over 30 journals including journals of dermatology and toxicology.
== Life and Work ==
Dr. Howard I Maibach was born on the 18th July, 1929, in New York, NY. He graduated from Tulane University school of medicine as a medical doctor in 1955.〔 With over 60 years of professional experience Howard I Maibach is widely known for his work in the field of Dermatology and toxicology. He is considered as an expert in contact and occupational dermatitis. He is recognized for dermatotoxicology, or skin exposure toxicity; allergies and skin disorders; and dermatopharmacology or the study of medications for skin disorders. He is also a member of 19 professional societies including the American Academy of Dermatology , Internal Commission on Occupation Health and the San Francisco Dermatological Society.〔 He has written over 2700 research articles, which according to an estimate could be a world record. He is also widely known for his work in Neonatal skin , dose response of topical drugs and per-cutaneous penetration.
